From
beginning basics to innovative freeform techniques, I offer fun and
inspiring beadweaving, fiber art and mixed media classes. Shown here are
samples from some of my most popular classes. I teach regularly at
Pratt Fine Arts Center and Fusion Beads in Seattle,
Washington, and at national shows and other venues (see below). For a current schedule of my
classes at Fusion Beads and registration information, please call the shop
at 206-782-4595.
If
you would like to schedule a class outside the Seattle area, either
privately or through a bead shop or other venue, please contact me:

Instructions or kits for some class projects shown
below are available for sale. Please e-mail me to inquire:

Mixed Media Remix
Weekend workshop
Collage, an
organic, versatile medium on its own, can be made all the richer with
the integration of other media. First we’ll view the works of
contemporary artists who creatively combine collage with paint and other
media. We’ll study the works in the context of composition to help us
create our own. Then we’ll let loose and make a collage or two to use as
a base for acrylic, watercolor, crayons, ink and other media of your
choice. Already have a collage you made previously that isn’t finished,
but you’re not sure what to do next? Bring it in – a mixed-media remix
might be just what it needs! No experience necessary. |

Art Journals for Busy People
Weekend or one-day workshop
Keeping a written and visual journal is an enriching, creative practice
of self-expression that is gaining popularity among people from all
walks of life. Use a variety of media (including repurposed materials
otherwise destined for the recycle bin) to create a journal-keeping
practice that you can maintain for less than 30 minutes a day. Learn
fun, fast and expressive mark-making techniques while developing a habit
of keeping an insightful and meaningful journal that will be a joy to
read, view and learn from. No experience of any kind necessary! |
